http://www.eurotope.net/ - From Iceland to Turkey, there is a lot to explore!
The Youth Association for the Protection of Nature (NAJU) in Germany and the environmental network Youth and Environment Europe (YEE) developed an international project called "eurotope.net". The project is funded by the European Union and will last at least until summer 2006. Based on the idea, that young people in Europe should work closer together to overcome today´s environmental problems, we created a website, which serves as an interactive exchange platform.
Here young people will be interviewed on their countries and their personal engagement in environmental work, reveal their tricks and best-practices from their career on how to protect the environment and provide you with information chapters on the most pressing problems of today. Get in touch with them by using our interactive forum or be part of the final eurotope.net - congress in summer to meet these people and exchange ideas and worldviews.
Contents of www.eurotope.net : My country, Eco-Topics and Best-Practice
The forum is unique as it gains its content from young volunteers around Europe. The exciting part of the webpage is, that it is growing gradually, making it worth while to visit over and over again.
Here you find interviews from young people working in the environmental movement. They introduce themselves, their country and their organisation. You'll get to know their views of the world and how they spend their free time to make a change in today's world.
This information section gives you comprehensive information on global environmental problems. Prepare yourself for tomorrow's challenges and learn about topics like International Trade, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Biodiversity protection etc.
In the Best-Practice section especially people engaged in youth organisations whistle-blow their project secrets. The examples range from hemp growing to action campaigning. Get inspired for your own projects to become creative and successful in the future.
The project should provide tools to improve consciousness on most relevant international environmental problems and show successful examples of environmental projects to apply them to your home country. Furthermore we hope to build a better understanding not only in between different organisations but also among cultures to enhance tolerance and friendship.
